This project transformed an industrial warehouse into a flexible, budget-friendly veterinary hospital. The design accommodates various animal sizes, integrates existing equipment, and reflects the clinic’s brand, creating a safe and efficient space.

THE CHALLENGE

Designing and constructing a veterinary hospital in an industrial area presented several challenges. One of the main issues was working with existing veterinary equipment and ensuring it could be effectively integrated into the new design. The site, an industrial warehouse, required a change of use to meet veterinary facility standards, which meant overcoming space constraints and complying with new regulations. Additionally, the project operated on a modest budget, requiring careful resource management. As a rural veterinary hospital, the facility needed to accommodate a wide range of animals and sizes, meaning each space, particularly treatment areas, had to be designed flexibly to serve multiple species.

THE SOLUTION

To address these challenges, the design incorporated the clinic’s branding colours into the flooring and joinery, creating a cohesive and tailor-made space that reflected the clinic’s identity while maintaining practicality. Careful planning ensured that areas could be easily divided by animal type and service, minimising interaction between different species and improving safety and efficiency. This zoning approach helped create a functional environment that catered to various animals while optimising the use of space and resources within the constraints of the industrial site. Despite the modest budget, the design choices ensured a professional, efficient, and well-branded veterinary hospital.

Safety Considerations

Safety was a key focus in the veterinary hospital project. The design included clear zoning to separate animal types and services, minimising interactions and reducing stress for the animals. Secure, easy-to-clean materials were used throughout to ensure hygiene, while treatment areas were designed for smooth workflow, enhancing both animal and staff safety. Additionally, careful planning ensured compliance with veterinary facility regulations within the industrial setting.

At the core of our mission lie the needs of our clients, driving everything we do. We take pride in constructing environments that enable our clients to better serve their patients, fostering a positive impact on healthcare.
