Light Radiology
Light Radiology Southgate in Adelaide delivers a purpose-built medical imaging clinic comprising three ultrasound rooms, an X-ray room, a CT suite and an MRI suite. Continuing our long-standing partnership, the design reflects Light Radiology’s established style, combining warm timber, layered greys and subtle blue accents to create a calm, cohesive clinical environment.
The project presented several challenges, including an irregular site shape that introduced angled walls and non-standard spatial conditions. These constraints needed to be resolved while accommodating multiple highly serviced imaging rooms, strict compliance requirements, clear patient and staff circulation, and minimal disruption to clinical operations.
A tailored design and build approach allowed the layout to respond directly to the site geometry while meeting Light Radiology’s functional and technical requirements. Careful planning ensured efficient adjacencies between ultrasound, X-ray, CT and MRI suites, clear zoning for patients and staff, and seamless integration of services, resulting in a highly functional and compliant clinical environment.
Design decisions focused on supporting patient comfort, staff efficiency and brand consistency. The interior adopts Light Radiology’s established palette of warm timber, layered greys and subtle blue accents, used strategically to soften angled spaces and improve wayfinding. Attention was also given to lighting, durability and acoustic performance to ensure the space performs well in a high-use healthcare setting.
